Paint/Body Mechanics: The Art of Restoration
03-22-2024

We don’t appreciate driving a good-looking vehicle until our car is showing its age or has been in an accident. Sometimes after a mishap, we aren’t able to drive our vehicle away from a scene. That’s when Paint and Body Mechanics are indispensable. To be a Body and Paint mechanic involves precision and attention to detail, ensuring that vehicles leave the shop looking their best. If you have an eye for detail and experience in this skill, Mobile County Merit System has opportunities for you. Body and Paint Mechanics perform automotive body repair work at the journeyman level, estimating the costs of repair jobs, operating large wreckers, and preparing and painting cars, trucks, and heavy equipment. If you have a driver’s license from your state of residence, high school education, a General Educational Development (GED), completion of an apprenticeship or trade school program in automotive body painting and repair, and one year of journeyman level experience in automotive body repair and painting, consider Mobile County Merit System.
